VANDERPUMP Rules’ Scheana Shay has avoided a face-to-face confrontation with Gleb Savchenko at Coachella, The U.S. Sun has exclusively learned.
Scheana, 38, and Gleb, 40, have been feuding publicly about the reality star going on Dancing With the Stars, but have yet to have a private conversation.
After the pro dancer told The U.S. Sun that Scheana “doesn’t have enough star power” to go on the show, the podcast host retaliated and told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that his comments were “very rude and uncalled for.”
In a new interview with The U.S. Sun, Gleb claimed that he tried reaching out to her via Instagram to apologize and then ran into her at Coachella but was given the cold shoulder.
“I like Scheana. Scheana is my friend. I told you that before, I choreographed her first wedding dance, and I actually didn’t mean to be mean, I just kind of said some stuff.
“And I actually wrote her and apologized,” he revealed on April 28 after performing onstage at Chippendales.
“I said, ‘Listen, I didn’t mean to upset you in any way.’
“But Dancing With the Stars is hard. It’s not an easy show.”
He continued: “I DM’d her. She did not respond.”
The Russian native had a chance to apologize to her in person after running into her at Coachella, but he got turned down.
“I saw her at Coachella and what happened? Nothing happened.
“She just did this,” he said as he motioned her putting her head down.
“She saw me and just walked away. But it’s all good.
“Listen, I don’t care, really. Who cares?”
‘I lost all respect for her’ Vanderpump Rules fans rage after Scheana Shay ‘disgustingly backstabs’ BFF Ariana Madix
Both Scheana and Gleb posted photos of themselves at Coachella while attending the first weekend, April 12 to 14.
When reached for comment on this story, Scheana’s rep told The U.S. Sun, “Scheana was not avoiding Gleb at Coachella.
“In fact, she had no idea he was even there. She also hadn’t seen his attempt to contact her via DM, but Gleb has her phone number and could have called, texted, or addressed the matter publicly if he indeed felt that his prior words had been misrepresented.”
TEAM ARIANA
Lisa Vanderpump’s former dance partner previously told The U.S. Sun that he got a first-hand look of her dance skills when he choreographed her first wedding dance to her ex-husband, Mike Shay.
The former couple got married in July 2014 in California.
“I remember it wasn’t easy,” Gleb revealed.
“I’m not saying bad things about her. I think Scheana is amazing. I really like her. She’s an awesome girl and everything.
“But as my memory calls, I didn’t think she had a lot of dance experience. That’s what I’m trying to say,” he continued.
Without knowing firsthand what her dance skills are like today, Gleb said that “maybe she’s improved” over the last 10 years and “got much better now.”
Scheana revealed on this season of Vanderpump Rules that it was a “punch to the gut” to find out that her pal Ariana Madix, 38, would be competing on the show.
Ariana was partnered with Pasha Pashkov and ended up placing third in the season 32 finale in December.
MAKING MOVES
Gleb wrapped up the DWTS Live 2024 Tour at the end of March and began his stint in Chippendales in Las Vegas on April 25.
During his recent interview with The U.S. Sun, he confessed that DWTS is “harder” because he has to deal with a celebrity who’s never danced before.
“We have a week to prepare a dance and then go and perform. And it’s really a lot,” he remarked.
“Chippendales is a fun show, so if you are in Vegas, want to get loose, have fun, come watch the show, and a hundred percent if you come, whatever mood you are in, you’re going to leave the show with a smile on your face.”
The pro will be performing at Rio Hotel & Casino until May 12, and then he’ll have a brief break before reuniting with the men of Chippendales at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from July 18 to July 21.
He concluded, “I love every second of it. I think it’s a great show and I have a lot of fun. All the boys are great and they’ve welcomed me so much with open arms and an open heart.”
